This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the control you have over it. The short version: we collect what we need to verify reviews and run the platform, we never sell your data, and your verification documents are never shown publicly.
What we collect
Account details you give us: name, email address, phone number and password (stored only as a secure hash).
Verification material: possession letters, electricity bills, agreements, GST or RERA numbers, and PAN where you choose to provide it — used solely to confirm you are who you say you are.
Content you create: reviews, ratings, photos, posts and messages.
Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, used to keep the service secure and working.
How we use it
To verify that reviews come from people with a genuine association with the property or business being reviewed — this is the core of what makes the platform useful.
To operate your account, publish approved reviews, and pay out rewards.
To detect fraud, duplicate accounts and coordinated manipulation.
To send service messages. Marketing email is opt-in and you can withdraw at any time.
What is public and what is not
Public: your display name, profile photo, verification badge, and the reviews and posts you publish.
Never public: your uploaded documents, phone number, email address, PAN, and precise unit number. These are visible only to our verification team.
Who we share it with
Identity-verification providers, who check the document or number you submit and return a pass/fail result.
Infrastructure providers who host the service under contract.
Law enforcement or a court, where we are legally required to.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with builders or vendors for marketing.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account is active. Verification documents are retained only as long as needed to support the badge, then deleted.
Published reviews may remain after account deletion in anonymised form, because removing them would distort the ratings other people rely on.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and withdraw consent for optional processing, from your profile settings or by writing to us.
To request deletion, email privacy@builderreview.in from your registered address. We respond within 30 days.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit with TLS. Passwords are hashed, and documents are stored with restricted access limited to the verification team.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.
